Cole Bros. Circus - 1948
The way this car has the angled braces going up in different directions, tells me this was a stock car at one time and has been cut down and is now being used as a flatcar. Anyone have any other thoughts?
Bob, When you take a stock car and cut it down to make a flat car you have to put truss rods under neath for strength so the car does not sag or break in half. What does does to save money always amazes me. Harry in Texas
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.
