Exciting New Project

While this will be a huge undertaking and well worth it to all in the end, I've had a lot of fun creating the labels to accompany these CD's as well.

Where's Bob been?

Hello again. I've had a couple inquiries as to what have you been doing, why aren't you posting anything?

Well...... I've been busy. I came up with the brilliant idea that all these scrapbooks need to be digitized and shared, not just sitting on a shelf. So I have started scanning each and every page and identifying every picture that I can. Some aren't marked at all. Some are obviously photos of a photo. Collected over 50 some years and put in these scrapbooks, you'll find photos taken by my family as well as photos from Wm. Koford, Dick Conover, the Pfening archives, P.M. McClintock, Don Smith and others. There are over 50 scrapbooks. I've got 7 of them done so far.

In order to share these for their circus historical value, I have started putting them on my website at http://www.thecircusworld.com/ and I'll have an ad in the Bandwagon for them. I'm absolutely certain, you will be delighted with them.

From Jim Elliott

The Ringling / Barnum train had all 19 flatcars derailed in the Detroit area as the were trying to assemble the train. Each flatcar has to have all the wheels replaced befoe they can be moved. The coaches and animals cars arrived safely in Tampa last night. The Flats are expected by Sunday evening.

CWM Macks

We are enjoying a few more of Marv Gauger's photos again today. This one was taken on August 7, 1983.

CWM Macks

Having been given to the CWM by Royal American, she was a real workhorse.

CWM Macks

Its hard to imagine nowadays that there was Black and White film let alone just 15 years ago.

CWM Macks

If I remember correctly, the White Mack has no Circus history. It came from the City of Chicago Water works.

Augusta, GA. Fair

Hal, Kathy, Sylvia and I all went to Atlanta a couple weekends ago. On the way back, we drove past the Augusta Fair where the James E. Strates shows was playing. The train was buried in the yards across the street but Hal got four pictures of the coaches.

This is the old Royal American Shows Generator car.

So long State Fair.

Well, its all out and over for another year. The South Carolina State fair had absolutely perfect weather for the entire 10 days. The Fair is reporting about 490,000 attended this year which is about 82,000 more than last year with 5 days of rain.
