So long State Fair.
Well, its all out and over for another year. The South Carolina State fair had absolutely perfect weather for the entire 10 days. The Fair is reporting about 490,000 attended this year which is about 82,000 more than last year with 5 days of rain.

Yeah Bob, It poured rain here almost all day today. You couldn`t ask for more perfect timeing ! I rode by the Fairgrounds today and most of the rides were racked & ready to go, only the Crazy Mouse & Flume rides were still up. By the way, there was a huge fire across the street from the fairgrounds at an old empty warehouse in the Farmers Market. Another thing that was timed good, because it would have been a traffic nightmare with the hoses crossing the streets.
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.
