The pickup on the right once belonged to my Father. He sold it to Doc when Hoxie-Bardex played New Jersey in 62. He was in poor health and knew he would never use it again. I helped my father and older brothers build the plywood box on it. Maybe I should say "got in their way when they built it".I was quite young at the time. (mid 50's)
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.
