The History of Flatcar # 75
This flatcar was originally built by the Warren Tank Car Company in the 1921 to 1929 period. The original owner is unknown. It is documented as having been on the Buck Jones Show in 1929. Foley & Burk Carnival acquired this car from the Buck Jones Show in 1929 and continually used it until the early 1970’s. Foley and Burk’s owner Lloyd Hilligoss donated this car to the Circus World Museum in 1972. While on Foley & Burk it used the # 45.
Upon its arrival at the Circus World Museum it was put into use immediately with a Silver body, Yellow Lettering, an Orange Shading and a Blue accent being lettered Foley and Burk Shows on both sides. The new number was # 75. This paint scheme was used in 1972 and 1973.
When the parade train was resurrected in 1985 this car was repainted a Silver Body with Red Letters and White Outline and titled Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Combined Circus on both sides.
The car was repainted and re-lettered for the third time in 2000 as an Orange car with White letters and Dark Blue Outline and a Shadow added. It was now titled Royal American Shows on both sides. This was used from 2000 through 2003 for the last ride to Milwaukee.
As of Sept. 2007, the car was stored inside the Train Sheds located just west of the Circus World Museum.
