Circus Historical Society

The May / June issue was mailed on Yuesday. Mine came today so they should start arriving at your doorsteps soon. All except for the Beloit / Janesville area of Wisconsin which usually has to go around the world twice before arriving there.

I've heard that Janesville , being a rural village , has only a 5 diget zip code ----- added to this , is the fact that the post office twas burned down in 1950 , when the residents objected to the one cent postage stamp increase , from three cents , to four cents , and showed up with pitch forks and torches chanting " Secession now" ---- it twas a Southern thing , I guess , and torched the combined post office / Piggley Wiggley / bait shop , and Mortuary , in retalitation , but I digress -- look it up !

Well, actually the "new" Post Office is in Woodmans Grocery Store/House of Bacchus Liquor Store building, right next to Cost Cutters Hair Salon and Big Lots. The mail boxes are located in the back parking lot near the Senior Retirement home next to Milton Lawns Cemetery. TRUE STORY. The Bandwagon was delivered this AM (9-13-11) with the latest shipment of sunshine.
