Bandwagons
I found this P.M. McClintock photo in one of the pages. It is handwritten on the back as the 4Paw show in 1899 in Des Moines, Iowa. Notice the silk top hats worn by the driver and those behind him.
This is Barnum & Bailey, could be 1897 in the US, or 1898-1902 in Europe. The wagon was on Forepaugh-Sells in 1910-1911, but not drawn by a forty-horse hitch.
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.

Five Graces Bandwagon. Great photo Bob.
Was their rig & bandwagon at that time so similar to the Barnum & Bailey 40-horse setup? (in Europe between 1898-1902)
