Clyde Beatty
I found this really great photo of Clyde Beatty in the Hagenbeck-Wallace winter quarters rehearsing his act tonight in a 1934 hagenbeck-Wallace Courier. Amazing!

You remember what Joey Ratliff said about ole Clyde when others were putting him down: "I like to compare his legend to Elvis. Was Elvis the greatest singer/musician? No. Was he the King? Yes! "
DAve, Some folks on other blogs have no idea that we will never see another like Clyde Beatty. Mr showmanship and how to sell an act to the public. The greatest of the great. Keep the torch lit for Mr. Beatty, Dave. Harry
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.
