Poster Exhibit at the Big "E"

This incredible 2 sheet flat poster was produced in 1894 by the Strobridge Litho co. for Barnum & Bailey's "Greatest Show on Earth". It was provided by Mr. Paul Ingassia. Many of you may know Mr. Ingrassia as a CHS member, former Director of the Great Circus Parade for years and a major spokesperson of the OABA animal fund.

I was chatting with Paul and Greg Parkinson about this particular litho and although the individuals aren't identified by name on this poster, it truly of some of the acts that were on Barnum & Bailey in 1894. A very close examination of the rear of the poster shows what appears to be a procenium and a "set" with what is "Moorish temple" painted upon it. This was in fact part of the "set" that was used for the great COLUMBUS AND THE DISCOVERY OF AMERICA spec that was a such an integregral part of "The Greatest Show on Earth" that season... -Chris Berry
