I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I have seen this wagon in three different museums: The old Hall of Fame, the Ringling Museum and the Circus World Museum. I wonder if any of your readers saw it in Des Moines? Not many are now alive who remember it actually being on a circus.
Once a guy was visiting me who was a chiropractor. As soon as he saw some of my posters he said, "The founder of my profession..." and I interrupted him, "You're going to tell me about Doc Palmer, aren't you?"
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.
