PJ-In our younger days, when these photo's were taken, we never thought any of us would get hurt doing this stuff. I guess that's the "invincibility of youth". Now when we get together over a beer and discuss "the good old days" we're all amazed that we're still alive! That's called "the wisdom of age". We do all agree that we wouldn't have missed these opputunities for ANYTHING. Flint
I, and I am sure many others would like to thank all of the volunteers who were close to the CWM and put in all the hours to save all of this history. And I am not meaning to hurt anyone's feelings as I wish I had been old enough to help when these photos were taken. But I have been around heavy equipment all my life and been responsible for other people's lives and I would have never permitted someone to work under that car without adding jack stands or blocks after it was jacked up. That void under the jack is just a mistake with the kind of weight that it is picking up. Also, all it takes is for a hose to rupture or be cut, or blow a seal from one of the jacks. You don't get many second chances. regards, p.j.
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.

Looks like the boards blocking the jack went south and the jacks went over. Wonder someone didn't get hurt.
thanks again for sharing the photos.
