Carnival equipment at the CWM
This is a great view of the Strates Stock car that was refurbished and used on the Circus Parade trains for many years. It had an opening at the end which allowed for the loading of a tractor that was then closed with a set of doors. I've seen pictures of World of Mirth with a car like this also.
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.
