You know these picture are just making me jelous cause I`m not there !!! Hope you`re have a good time & bring lots of pictures back to South Carolina, We`ll get together when you get back home !!
Bobby, When are they going to get rid of the awful Benzini Bros. title and return the cage to it's "rightful" ownership. That's a bad deal when they whore these wagons up.
Wade, CWM will eventually restore them to their original colors. We have money from 20th Century Fox to repaint them but in the meantime there is a good reason to let the public enjoy seeing how they looked in the "Water for Elephants" movie. There is also a section of bleacher seats in the wagon building which Steve Freese and Heavy Burdick brought home from the California set on display.
The replica of the RBBB Diner wagon will retain the Benzini Bros paint job because it is a replica which was built for the Milwaukee circus parades to prepare meals for the train crew, museum staff and others working on the parade.
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.
