Baraboo - Friday
The Banquet prepares to get underway with the arrival of Maureen Brunsdale from the Milner Library at Illinois State University and the illustrious Ward Hall.
I was standing in front of the hippo cage , and here comes Ward Hall , in a white suit and tie , -- after shaking hands with him , he went into one of his famous " talks" about the blood sweating bemouth from the river Nile --- all the while pointing to the sky board on the wagon ---- talk about making my day ---- it was like --- it was like the Pope coming over and saying a prayer with you! Fact
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.
