My Dad visited the Royal American Shows winterquarters in 1978. It was now over by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football stadium. Previously the winter quarters had been at the Florida State fairgrounds.

- I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.

I was able to visit the WQ on several occassions over the years but I don't believe I ever saw the show on the road.
Today that location is a housing development with no indication it was ever anything else!
My mother and father, Laura and Clyde Cannedy traveled with the RAS until I was born and then they returned to their home state. This was in 1952. They both passed away before I found out that they had adopted me from a young woman that also worked the show. I don't have any names and the adoption would certainly not have been legal. My mom danced in a Hawaiian show of some kind. If anyone has any info that would help me find out who my biological mother was or any information at all...please help. thanks
