Cole Bros. Circus - 1949
The Cole Bros. Circus played Sandusky, Ohio on June 25, 1949. These photos were all taken by my uncle, William Lerche of Bellevue, Ohio. They are in his scrapbooks. I took photos of his photos to share with all here on the blog.
There's just something I love about a loaded bunch of flats -- I guess cause they're ready to come to town , or ready to go to another town --- can't put it into words , but these kind of pictures always fascinate me -- thanks for digging them out to share with us
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.
