- I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.

Boy, does this bring back memories! Don Kidder on the left (Mack driver)Bill McFann on the right (CAT driver/all around mechanic). The place is the old Navy Pier in Chicago either 1981 or 1982. The Mack is suffering from a "flat"- or rather "lack of" tire. We were doing a circus parade for Mayor Jane Byrne. What a fiasco.

Do these tires have to pressed on like soild fork lift tires? Is there a supply of fresh tires still available for them?
