Walter L. Main - 1922

One of the great Circus Historians of our time was Mr. Joseph Bradbury in Atlanta, Ga. He created a huge file of parade wagon histories. Some were so detailed as to have the actual dimensions and in one case the weight of the wagon. I was lucky enough to get a copy of these many years ago.
This wagon in the photo was "presumably built for Barnum & Bailey." It has the huge carved lion on one side of the wagon and two elephant heads on the other side.
1911 to 1913 - Downie and Wheeler Bros. Circus
1914 to 1917 - La Tena Wild Animal Shows
1918 to 1924 - Walter L. Main Circus ( These were all Andrew Downie shows )
1925 to 1931 - 101 Ranch Wild West
Fate of wagon - unknown.
