World of Mirth from Ed Tracy
Again from 1956, these were not some of the newest coaches on the rails. I'll bet they dated back to the 1920's!

This scooter wagon was one of the wagons left on the SC State Fairgrounds after they wintered here in Columbia in 1962. When the show pulled out of here in the spring of 63 it was the last time I remember seeing this great old carnival. They went belly-up in 1964 after the Dixie Classic Fair in Winston Salem NC when the Sheriff filed attachment papers. What was left was later sold at auction on the Winston Salem Fairgrounds.
I performed from 1973 to 1995 with a couple years off in between. I did an aerial cradle act for three years, low wire as a clown, trained llamas, ponies, then lions and tigers for 15 years. I am now a firefighter, a member of the Circus Historical Society and an author of several circus and carnival related subjects.
