Ringling - Red Unit - From Hal Guyon Jr.

The Ringling Red unit came to Columbia, SC this past week. The four stock cars were positioned real close to the arena. The eleven elephants were all in one car. The eight horses and one pony were in the second car. The third car appearred to be not in use. The fourth car had a generator on it.
There were 17 flatcars and one bi-level car. I think Hal told me there was two supply cars. The rest of the train was all coaches. Our good friend Hal Guyon Jr. was good enough to take a bunch of photos and shared these with us today.

Actually, the elephants are loaded in two cars. Five in one and Six in the other. The car that was stated as being empty, is used for feed and hay storage for the animals. The zebras travel overland in a large horse trailer.

Thanks for clearing that up Jim. Hope all is well in Sunny Florida.

Yeah Bob,
The two cars that were closet to Assembly Street, behind the Sonic, both carried the elephants. The third car was the one that had no animals and the fourth car had the horses and generator with a sleeper section on one end. I may have led you wrong Saturday, but as you know it was cold and rainy out there !
