Here is the Stake Driver from the inaugural 1935 season of Cole Bros. Circus. There are people much wiser than I that know the history of these wagons in detail. I'm not sure which issue of Bandwagon its in ( that can be found on the Circus Historical Society website ) but I do remember Fred Dahlinger writing a very good article about stake drivers that is well worth the read.Friday, September 23, 2011
