Wm. P. Hall

As many of you know, I have been researching Wm. P. Hall for a couple years now. I'll be giving a presentation on him at the Circus Historical Society in July in Normal, Illinois.

I just recieved some more copies from the Circus World Museum Research Library out of the collection of papers taken from Wm. P. Hall's home. In it were letterheads I have never seen before. Here's a brief journey into the business of the "Horse King of the World!"

I'm guessing this is done in color but I don't know as this is a copy. I'll bet it was a real nice looking piece.

The fact that he is not referred to as the Horse King of the World leads me to believe that this is prior to 1905.

This is from 1905. I found it very interesting in that some one was writing to Mr. Hall on the Hall stationary.

Ringling - Red Unit - From Hal Guyon Jr.

The Ringling Red unit came to Columbia, SC this past week. The four stock cars were positioned real close to the arena. The eleven elephants were all in one car. The eight horses and one pony were in the second car. The third car appearred to be not in use. The fourth car had a generator on it.

There were 17 flatcars and one bi-level car. I think Hal told me there was two supply cars. The rest of the train was all coaches. Our good friend Hal Guyon Jr. was good enough to take a bunch of photos and shared these with us today.
