I found this detailed photo in my dad's papers today. There is not a thing wrote on it to know who, what, or where, but it very definitely looks like a circus wagon from here with the mud ring on the front corner. It apparently had dual pnuematic wheels on it from the spindle using 10 lugs. It looks like the wagon pole or tongue pin hanging. You can also see the fifth wheel hooks on the front to chain it so it can't turn on the flatcars. Back on the barrels appears to be another wagon blocked in the air.Does anyone have any ideas?

By looking at the fith wheel this appears to be a RBBB wagon. It was probably take a WQ`s sometime after thw show left canvas. Also a lot of the old wagons were taken to Houston in the 60`s as they had planned to open a circus Park there and many of them were left in a Houston junk yard, could have been taken there. I am 99.9% sure it`s RBBB though.
Looks like a Springfield wagon with that type of 5th wheel. They were built so large to make poling easier.
Doesn't look like any of the wagons that were at Astroworld as I am certain all the wagon poles were the fold up type. Does anyone know what happened to Jim Caldwell's photo collection? Mel Miller was working at Astroworld before the Judge died and had some of us local fans come and take photos and measurements of the wagons. We sent the photos and informtion to Jim as he was doing a story for the LCW at the time. This was in 1971-72 as I rode out there with Tex Dreyfus and all plans of the circus park were on hold as Hofheinz had a stroke in 1970 and was in a wheelchair. Often wonder what would have happened if he hadn't been sick.
The wagons where in the back of Astroworld till a part of the frontage of the park on loop 610was sold to a new-car dealer in the late 70's and the wagons went to the scrap yard on Holmes Rd. a couple of miles from the dome. You could see them for years when you went past on the loop.
