Royal American Shows

There are some of the Thrall flats up at the Circus World Museum. Two were repainted and used in the Great Circus Parade trains over the years. The other four are still sitting outside the train barns with the Royal American Shows lettering still on them.

I guess everyone knows that these all came from the Ringling show. They bought 12 of them for the Seat wagons but they didn't work out very well for the seat wagon loads. I think Royal American bought them in 1961 from Ringling.

Circus Historical Society

The Circus Historical Society turned 70 years old in 2009 and looking for many more exciting years ahead. I built this little dispaly to take to the Carson & Barnes Show in Rock Hill, SC 2 years ago.

Circus Kirk

Circus Kirk was the only travelling all student Circus in America when it started out in 1968. It stayed on the road till 1977. The dream of owner and college professor, Charles "Doc" Boas, this small show became a real three ringer under the Big Top with a 10 piece Brass band, a real old fashioned 10-in-1 Side Show on the midway, 6 semis and several straight jobs, and an elephant during the last 4 years.

Last but not least, let's not forget every one's favorite elephant, Jumbo. The movie was released in 1962 which was probably the last time I saw it.
