Every kid needs a playground and this was ours. This was our backyard. Dad had found some old circus equipment over the years and we always had a swinging ladder or a trapeze up between two trees. We had a tent for years, thus the sidewall shown here. Dad loved the circus. I guess I do too!

This is my Dad back in 1970. He found this banner and three to go with them in a junk store down around Akron. We have four or five pieces of paper from the Malloy show to go with it, a set of roman rings, a few cables and a swivel. How big was the show? I don't know but it's NOT listed in the Bob Parkinson book, "Directory of American Circuses."

This was the group photo from the Mills Bros. Ring gathering at our house in 1970. How could 39 years have slipped by already?

Yankee Robinson Circus

This is one of the more plentiful letterheads from Fred Buchanan's shows. Buchanan managed to go under and come back many times. Finally in 1932, he went under again owing Wm.P. Hall. While court papers were taken out trying to collect on the mortgage, Wm. P. Hall had a sheriff's sale for the Buchanan show and Hall bought it all for nothing, thus legally owning it all again and still having Buchanan responsible for the note. Fred Buchanan was looked for over a very long time but was never found.

Robbins Bros. Circus

The opening of Robbins Bros. Circus in Lancaster, MO. after wintering at the Wm.P. Hall farm was recorded here in the Lancaster (MO.) Excelsior on May 1, 1924. With Fred Buchnan as an owne, this same show was called World Bros. Circus in 1923.
